Discover our Sweden Tours and Travel Guide

Visit Stockholm city old Town, Royal Palace, step inside City Hall, sail the Baltic Sea and more.

From the untamed Arctic north to the great open skies of the lakelands, and the pastoral beauty, green fields and characteristic red cottages of southern Sweden - no other part of the world can show you so much scenic beauty and variety! The country has a long history of fearsome conquerors who travelled to all parts of the world… While the longboat-loving Vikings immediately spring to mind, it equally applies to IKEA, ABBA and Volvo cars! Today Sweden is one of the world's most livable and lovable countries, known for its cosmopolitan cities such as Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmo and beautiful, pristine landscapes, full of amazing lakes and vast lush forests which seem to never end.

Must-see landmarks

Cuisine and beverages

The Swedish capital of Stockholm is spectacular city built on a group of 14 Islands - a unique blend of ultra-modern style with the quaint charm of one of northern Europe’s oldest recorded towns. Stroll through the courtyard of the Royal Palace, visit the imposing City Hall with its Golden Room (where the annual Nobel Prize presentation banquet takes place) and marvel at the Cathedral. Follow the medieval route to the Old Town, with some of the narrowest streets in the world, full of antique stores, smart boutiques and curiosity shops. Another fascinating visit is the fabulous Wasa Galleon, raised from Stockholm's harbour bed in 1961 after sinking on its maiden voyage in 1628. Skansen is a vast outdoor museum, folklore centre, zoo and amusement park. You could even enjoy views of this unique island-city by boat or simply walk around the numerous connecting bridges to the various museums and art galleries.

The Swedes make the most of their long summer days spending as much time as possible outdoors. Join them in Stockholm’s Kungsträdgården (King's Garden), packed with crowded cafés, people playing outdoor chess, or enjoying a busker’s ballad near the fountains. You can explore the vibrant bars and restaurants of the medieval Gamla Stan area and there are great outdoor festivals all through the season.
