What is the role of the Well-Being Director*?

In response to the COVID-19 challenge, we have created and implemented a new position on many of our tours, for a Well-Being Director*. Working closely together with your Travelling Concierge, the Well-Being Director* will help make sure all necessary protocols are followed to ensure the health and wellbeing of all our guests. This includes our enhanced screening and hygiene protocols, complying with distancing and other requirements set by government authorities. They are also there to support our guests, answer any questions you may have and to give you peace of mind while travelling in these new times.

Why take a Luxury Gold group tour when I could tour independently?

Planning your own road tour takes considerable effort to execute effectively. While it is possible to achieve this independently to a certain degree, it would be far more time-consuming, stressful and expensive to create the equivalent standard of vacation that we will give you.

Aside from the restrictions of the VIP experiences we offer being exclusive to our Luxury Gold tours, you would also have to contend with: planning fuel stops and parking into your route; organising vehicle hire; booking your own accommodation, finding it yourself, carrying your own luggage, and checking yourself in and out; navigating your tour; following different driving laws and complex border formalities; adding the extra costs of tips, fuel, tolls, parking, meals, sightseeing, entertainment and entrance fees to your total vacation expenses; waiting in line for standard entry into each attraction (often for several hours); and above all else, only seeing your dream destinations like every tourist does, gaining no deeper insights than what guidebooks and apps can tell you.

Can I combine a Luxury Gold road tour with cruising?

When exploring Europe, over 90% of its greatest sights are a significant distance from seaports or navigable rivers. Our Luxury Gold road tours provide easy access to these sought-after destinations, giving you the opportunity to fully immerse yourself in the the towns and cities we stay in, meet locals and experience what it is like to live there. For areas that do involve crossing an expanse of water, we partner with our luxury sister company Uniworld, specialising in boutique river cruising, to bring you the best of both worlds.

We offer incredible luxury trips in Europe, North America, South America, Hawaii, South-East Asia, the Indian sub-continent (including India, Nepal, Bhutan and Sri Lanka), Australia and New Zealand.

What other modes of transport does Luxury Gold use?

A Luxury Gold tour will include touring on high-speed trains, alpine cable cars, hydrofoils, river cruisers and horse-drawn carriages, in addition to our high-deck luxury coaches with extra legroom.

What is included in the tour cost?

Our website prices include everything that is listed in the itineraries: all luxury accommodation; all sightseeing, admissions and VIP access; all motor coach, cruise or rail transportation; the services of a professional Travelling Concierge; all meals and fine dining, as noted in the itinerary; and all luggage handling. Plus, all tips for services from Local Experts, dining-room staff, housekeeping and porters at hotels, airports, docks and train stations are also included. If you pre-pay for your vacation, you can also opt to have the tips for your Driver and Travelling Concierge included too.

*Luxury Gold will include a Well-Being Director on tours with more than 15 travelling guests to all operating regions excluding Japan, Australia & New Zealand. Custom groups will have the option to include a Well-Being Director for a surcharge. In addition to the Travelling Concierge and Driver Team, the Well-Being Director will be responsible for keeping up to date on the latest health authority and local government guidelines. They will also ensure adherence to well-being protocols on tours and will be a dedicated support to help guide our guests.
