Trip: A well organized tour. Allow us to finish the tour without getting stomach troubles.

Service: Tour was well arranged with good accommodations. Well supplied of good bottled waters.

Trip: An amazing trip and real adventure. Devender our guide was excellent in organising even when plans had to be changed because of road closures etc. India is a fascinating country and exceeded our expectations.

Service: Insight tours was great, everything taken care of.

Trip: Good itinerary. Provide free and better wifi on tour coach, and at WelcomHotel at Jodhpur. cancel the City Place High tea at Jaipur. Better quality tour coach.

Service: 3 major negatives with this Rajasthan tour. 1. The tour coach is below par. It is old and not up to the usual Insights vacation standard; not to mention Luxury Gold. I have been other tour coaches on the trip that were so much better. The wifi provided on board was poor and intermittent. It is just a marketing tool. 2. WelcomeHotel at Jodhpur is not up to the Luxury Gold standard. It does not provide free wifi. Luxury Gold should have bought and provided us with free wifi since we have paid so much for the tour. At this modern age, not providing good and free wifi in hotels is just not on. This hotel is far from the city. The service at this hotel is by far the worse we have encountered in this Rajasthan tour. I was over charged for beers, and it took the reception more than an hour to sort that out. The service at the breakfast and dining rooms were poor to say the least. At times, I wonder if the waiters (male) understand our requests. The service at Trident Gurgaon and Leela Palace Udaipur hotels were the best in this tour. 3. Jaipur's City Palace High tea. This was marketed as a VIP experience exclusively available to Luxury Gold guests. This is a sham, and a con job. There was no table service. They had no idea what a High Tea is. We sat in lounge chairs, and were served 1/2 cup of tea, a small samosa, 1/4 cheese sandwich, and a small country road chocolate. My wife is gluten free. She was served fruits and a piece of fried chicken with potato chips. What a joke! This should be removed from the itinerary. Devender Singh Rathore, our tour director, is very friendly, knowledgeable and tried his best. He is a proud Indian. Our driver from Creative Tour drove like a typical Indian driver. After surviving on the road the first few days, we grew to appreciate his driving skill on Indian roads and traffic. The water boy was helpful and tried so hard. On the whole, the Rajasthan tour was lovely. We have seen many interesting places in Rajasthan. To me the highlights were seeing the Taj Mahal, and seeing the camels in the desert sand dunes near Jaisalmer in the sunset. The restful pace at the lovely Leela Palace Hotel at Udaipur was a relief before the long flight home to Melbourne. Would recommend this Imperial Rajasthan Luxury Gold tour to any one interested in India.

Trip: See prior comments for this subject.

Service: Excellent service by the tour concierge throughout the tour. He looked out for any special needs of the members of the tour group. The tour, while not necessarily an easy trip considering all its components, tried to include a wide and varied selection of places to see and things to do to communicate the intricacies and aspects of India. The seats of the coach used were uncomfortable for shorter people. Wifi was more not working then working - a big disappointment

Trip: Enjoyed most of it except high tea at Jaipur palace . It was not the high tea that we in Australia expect . Sit down, fine China , three tiered plates of savouries, scones , sandwiches and desserts . It was not as you advertised as a highlight . Expectations were not met . As a gluten free traveller , I was given a plate of fruits and chicken and chips . That is not classed as high tea that Luxury gold probably paid a lot for and so did we . Jaipur palace have to learn more about how high tea should be served .

Service: For our trip Imperial Rajasthan, we thought the bus was not up to the standard we are used to even for Insight tours . No extra leg room as in Insight tours . It looked worn inside. I missed out on all the flourishes because they all contained wheat . Please pay more attention to Gluten free ( coeliac ) travellers .The guide Devender was very good . Pity we had to pay for wifi in one hotel for two nights . Other than those points I would recommend luxury gold .

Trip: Fabulous! Loved the shopping stops even though I usually don’t. Loved the ride on the back of a truck with an ox pulling us. Loved sampling the street food. Thanks to our guide, Sathea.

Service: The most key part to making this a 5 star tour was our tour guide, Sathea, an accomplished and knowledgeable tour guide of many years. He understands Indian religions, philosophies, customs and culture; he extended kindness in every thing he did towards all of us. My husband became ill at the tail-end of our journey and, still, he extended kindness when he need not. He will always be dear to us.

Trip: Hotels, food, weather and knowledge of Tour Director added to the success of this tour. Would love to visit the rest of India if we could afford the tour to see the comparison. Well done Insight and Vir our TD Mr Singh our coach driver, exceptional driver and Mr Surjit. You made the trip more enjoyable.

Service: Excellent tour from beginning to end. Can highly recommend.

Trip: Good itinerary but entailed very long journeys often on very rough roads. Also guide took us to too many markets. Would build in some time to relax at very nice hotels. Coming from UK winter, some time to enjoy sun would be good.

Service: Unfortunately we were not met at Delhi airport and had to organise pre paid taxi which was rather basic- not good start to " luxury " holiday.

Trip: Itinerary was well planned with so many interesting places visited. A good balance with historical and cultural things to see, eg. visits to carpet factory, jewellry place, Bishnoi people, pottery etc Loved our sunset dinner and entertainment in the desert--a true highlight

Service: Tour was well organised Hotels all excellent, except for the Jaypee Palace in Agra which was not up to the standard of the other hotels--very minimal bathroom accessories, towels small and thin, cheap thin rough toilet paper. Breakfast buffet was nowhere as good as at the other hotels on this tour Excellent tour manager and very comfortable coach However, I have one very serious criticism regarding the use of open jeeps, with no proper seating, and, of course no seat belts on a very busy major road in the dark This was at the end of Day 9 after a pleasant jeep ride in the country where we visited a local Bishnoi home and then drove on to a pottery place. It was a rather long trip in the open and rather uncomfotable jeeps. The trip was made even longer as the jeep drivers had trouble finding the pottery place However, my main criticism, as already mentioned above, was a safety factor of being on a main road in these jeeps which should only be used for off-road slower travel on quiet rural roads We travelled on the main road for a long time, (at least 20 minutes--probably more than that). If there had been an accident with a larger heavier car, bus or truck we would have been seriously injured, if not killed!!! Eventually we got to the location on the main road where we had got off our coach and started the jeep ride into the country The coach should have come down the main road to meet the jeeps when we finished our country trip with them Surely this what should be the case Many of the others on the tour were pretty upset by this dreadful trip amongst all the noise and pollution on the main road, however, I don't know how many of them will get around to putting this in their feedback I did say that I would definetely be making this crticism on behalf of the group This is something which needs to be addressed!! A major safety issue!! Hardly "Luxury Gold", or even Insight's normal standard I expect an answer from someone about this complaint, which can so easily be remedied by having the coach come to meet the jeeps when the "country trip" finished

Trip: Every city we visited was fascinating, with a lot to see. No place was a disappointment, and there was a lot of variety, eg mountains, desert, plains, the lakes of Udaipur.

Service: Everything was well done. The hotels were mostly excellent, except the one in Agra, I would not go there again. The concierge, Nirendra Kohli, was outstanding, with an excellent knowledge of all the places we visited. The only reason I did not award five stars is that I thought that some of the jeep excursions were unsafe, ie no doors or seatbelts, so I had to hang on so as not to fall out.

  • 01 May, 2018

Trip: It was an excellent tour and teverythibg we saw was worthwhile.

Service: Tour Director was good and very helpful. Perhaps more information on the sights from a historical reference would add benefits.
